You guys actually read this horseshit?!
Monet.
I visited the Smithsonian Art Museum in D.C. today. It was incredible. I wandered into the 16th and 17th century galleries first, but I knew what I was looking for: the Impressionist galleries. And soon enough, I hit Fragonard and then found Manet. I was pretty much in the throes of morbid ecstasy when I first saw Monet’s paintings. They had a few van Gogh paintings, including an epic self-portrait. It was terrifying to realise that these great painters had stood in front of the very canvases I was scrutinizing and shaking my head at in awe.
